Guaranteed: it is impossible to get bored

In this interview we will learn a little about the most personal facet of our Global Regulatory Manager, Jaume Riba.

Jaume RibaExplain to us your day-to-day management.
Contrary to popular belief, day-to-day life at Regulatory is very varied. From Barcelona we centralize a large part of the work of all the group's subsidiaries. I spend most of my time on technical tasks of all kinds, as well as coordinating the team. Approximately half of our resources are devoted to resolving customer or internal queries, and the remaining 50% to other issues (approval of new products or suppliers, adapting to regulatory changes, improving and updating documentation and the database, etc.). Guaranteed: it is impossible to get bored.

What differentiates Ventós in the market?
Our formula is based on (1) An extensive portfolio of products available for immediate delivery, (2) the distribution of the best manufacturers in the market, (3) stringent quality control, and (4) good technical and regulatory support.
But the secret lies in the human team that makes all of the above possible. At Ventós we like what we do.

What do you like most about your work?
What motivates me the most is to always go one step further and solve problems, which in the regulatory area are often complex and require creative solutions.

Of the 3000 products we have in stock, which one is your favorite?
I am very interested in ISO E SUPER® and all its variants. It's fascinating that such a simple aroma chemical can have so many facets.

What smells take you back to your childhood?
The smell of fresh laundry. It reminds me of those endless summers in the village, left in the care of the grandmothers and out of all worries.

Your ideal vacation destination? What would your perfect vacation be like?
Almost any destination can be the ideal destination with the right company. My vacations always include family, sea and good food.

Main trait of your character?
I am an innate optimist. I look on the bright side of things and am rarely in a bad mood.

What style of music do you listen to? Favorite singer?
I listen to almost everything and I like to investigate, navigating almost always through the less commercial side. Spotify has made my life a lot easier, but I continue to buy vinyl. Lately I'm quite obsessed with 80s pop bands.

What is your favorite hobby?
Music, I can't imagine life without it. I listen to music every day, I play the electric bass since high school and I love to waste my time playing with synthesizers and drum machines. I also enjoy mountain biking a lot, a hobby that I currently have a bit abandoned.

If a film director offered you to make a movie about your life, which actor or actress would you like to play your character?
James Stewart.

Would you prefer to travel to the past or to the future?
I like the present. I wouldn't travel through time without a return ticket, and I'd rather travel to the past. Having spoilers for the future would make life predictable and boring.
